The shape of the first piece of ply was traced onto tracing paper:

The 2.5mm ply cut easily with a stanley knife and the glue (Aerodux) was applied liberally (like jam on toast!) to both sides after sanding the surfaces to provide a rough surface:

The ply accurately positioned and stapled through thick cardboard:

The scarfed edge can be seen at the rear end of the ply where it will meet with the 2mm ply covering the side over the rear of the wing. This second piece of ply supports the other piece of "floating" timber that projects forwards from the complicated triangulation above the rear wing mount.
